WEAPONS AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT

Small Arms: Pistols, Rifles (sporting and assault), Shotguns (sporting and assault), Machine Guns, Submachine Guns, small Mortars, RPG’s, Rocket Launchers, etc. Remove all plastic, wood and rubber parts including all hermetically sealed sights (telescopic, etc.). Vat soak weapon in full strength Spica Gold for 72 hours. After 72 hours, remove weapon and allow to air dry at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours. Any remaining Spica Gold may be wiped off with a soft cloth. Reassemble weapon and put back into normal service. If bore, tube, etc. is already fouled, repeatedly saturate with Spica Blue and ream with a brass brush until fully cleaned. After initial foregoing application, use Spica Gold full strength as you would any good grade of weapons oil each time weapon is cleaned. Such items as bore cleaners, rust inhibitors, etc. will no longer be needed as the weapon will be coated with a 0.3 micron layer of MoS2 and our subsurface penetrant will have soaked into the metal itself. Weapons will function without problems in temperatures from -100º F to + 1,000º F and will be virtually unaffected by high humidity or salt water operating conditions. For civilian weapons application, see www.sprinco.com under the brand name of "Plate +".

Heavy Weapons: Heavy Mortars and Rocket Launchers, Artillery (stationary or self propelled), heavy Guided Missile launch rails, etc. Place weapons to be lubricated under cover or out of direct inclement weather (rain, snow, etc.). Remove or protect from lubricant all wood, plastic, rubber parts and hermetically sealed telescopic sights. Position barrel, launch tube or launch rails horizontal to the ground. Using a pressure type coarse spray device with no smaller than a 1 micron nozzle opening, saturate/spray breech, bore, launch tubes, rails and all other metal parts with full strength Spica Gold. Repeat spray method 3 times allowing 10 to 12 hours between spray treatments. Where weapon manufacturer recommends a grease type lubricant such as for gear trains on rotating battle tank gun turrets or similar gear trains, apply Spica Gray in the manner recommended. If bore, tubes or rails are already fouled, repeatedly saturate with Spica Blue and ream with a brass brush until thoroughly cleaned. Once initial spray application above is completed, reassemble all parts which may have been removed and use Spica Gold full strength in the same manner as any good grade of weapons oil each time the weapon is cleaned. Some heavy weapons are manufactured with open gears or gear boxes for vertical and horizontal firing adjustments. Where this condition exists, and the manufacturer calls for a gear oil lubricant of SAE weight 80 to 140, apply Spica Green as instructed under “Gear Box Applications”. Again, weapon will be coated with a 0.3 micron layer of MoS2 with our subsurface penetrant having soaked into the metal itself. Weapons will function in extremes of temperatures from -100º F to +1,000º F and will be virtually unaffected by high humidity or salt water operating conditions.

Tracked or Wheeled Equipment: Battle tanks, half tracks, mine sweepers (flails), armored personnel carriers (APC’s), trucks, self propelled weapons, general purpose vehicles, buses, all terrain vehicles, scout cars, towed trailers (artillery) or any other equipment moving on wheels or continuous metal tracks. Use Spica Gray everywhere a grease type lubricant is recommended by manufacturer. All manual transmissions, gear boxes (any type), differentials, etc. calling for an 80 to 140 SAE weight type gear oil, apply Spica Green as instructed under “Gear Box Applications”. For equipment mounted hydraulic systems calling for a 10 SAE weight type hydraulic oil, apply Spica Red as instructed under “Hydraulic System Applications”. Some military mechanized equipment have automatic transmissions using automotive type transmission fluids. These should be lubricated with Spica Blue as instructed under “Automatic Transmission Applications”. Cable or chain winches electrically operated or operated by power takeoff, use Spica Gold, Green or Gray as instructed under “Cable, Chain and/or Winch Lubrication”.

Marine Vessels - Naval Combat or Merchant: For all onboard equipment see specific applications such as gear boxes, chain or cable winches, etc. For marine engines see “Engine Applications”. For all undersurface vessels (submarines) contact The Parsec Group, Tribology Division, via E-mail parsec@hughes.net or Fax to 804-598-9556.

Combat Aircraft - Piston or Jet Powered - Fixed Wing or Helicopter: For all military aircraft, regardless of type, internal missile and rocket applications, contact The Parsec Group, Tribology Division, via E-mail parsec@hughes.net or Fax to 804-598-9556.
